Berlin Typo
Doro Spiro
Doro was first introduced to screen printing while studying art in Australia. There were good studios there where you could learn the technique and experiment with it. Later, she founded her own screen-printing studio in Berlin together with several other artists, which produced small runs of drawings for posters, art prints, and T-shirts. For her designs, the Berlin-based illustrator observes people in her social environment, combines images with text, and distills moods into situations. In this way, she aims to capture and convey the atmosphere of the urban environment. The minimalist color palette of her works, featuring intense colors, and the clear formal language make Doro’s graphics expressive and showcase the possibilities that screen printing offers in the field of illustration.
